Welcome to Sneha Karma Foundation (SKF) Whatsapp Group
The purpose of this web page is to clearly explain the objective of the group, the do’s and don’t and some other guidelines. This will be a ‘living’ web page which we will continuously updated based on activities within the group and our learnings in it.
Whatsapp Group Objective
The ‘SKF Supporter’ Group was setup with the following objectives in mind :
- Raise Awareness among all Supporter of Sneha Karma Foundation (SKF) about the work done by SKF.

How will it work ?
The Plan at the time of setting up the group was as follows ( let us hope we can follow it 😛 )
- Every week, SKF ‘Whatsapp Admin’ volunteers will make at the most 3 post in the group
- We will be focusing on 3 key areas
- Promoting Friends to shop on Sneha Karma Collections (SKC)
- Read more about our SKC vision and plan here
- When someone shops on SKC, they are indirectly making a donation 🙂 and getting the items that they need anyways.
- For example – An item that is being sold on SKC for $50 might be costing SKC only $40. The $10 of net-profit will go directly to SKF as donation.
- Attract ‘virtual volunteers’ for various volunteering opportunities
- The Post will advertising very specific volunteering opportunities based on the opportunities that are current open or where we need help.
- For example – we might need someone to work for 40 hours to complete some work ( grant writing proposal) – A Template and other guidance will be provided for them to do the job. We might need someone who has good communication skills to do the work.
- Raise ‘Donations for various SKF programs
- As you can imagine, The biggest challenge for any Non-profit is ‘Funding’
- SKF is no different. We too have the same challenge.
- SKF has multiple channels of funding but one of the biggest channel is donations from ‘Individual’ donors like you and me.
- We will make post requesting funding for various projects / programs from time-to-time
Do’s
- Each member of the group is strongly encouraged to share some of our messages in the whatsapp group with ur friends and groups on any of the social media platforms
- You can decide which message and how often you wish to share.
- Our recommendation is that you share at least one message once a week with at least 5 people each week.
- Feel free to comment on the post made in the group with any feedback you might have about the post. we are all learning.
- Please provide only constructive / positive feedback in the group setting.
- If you do not like a post or someone’s comment – please send that feedback to any of the group admins.
- Request addition of new members to the group by sending the name & number of the person you are requesting to be added by sending a direct message to any of the group admins.
- Please make sure you have gotten prior approval from the person before requesting their addition to the group.

- …As some of you might already know, I am a proud supporter of Sneha Karma Foundation (SKF) – https://dev.snehakarma.org . SKF is a USA based non-profit focused on executing projects in India. We have created a WhatsApp group called ‘SKF Supporters’ – it includes volunteers, ambassadors, donors and other supporters of SKF but before I request you to be added to the group, I wanted to make sure that you are okay for me to do that ? You will not receive more than 3 messages a week. The idea is to use your WhatsApp network to promote SKF and get more supporters. Are u okay for me to add u to the group ?
Dont’s
- Please do not make any post with prior approval from any of the ‘Group Admins’
- Send a Direct Whatsapp message to any of the ‘Group Admins’ with your post and request approval before making the post.
- Do not bother seeking approval of any message which is not related to SKF. It will be rejected.
- Please be kind when you post a comment on a post
- Always provide constructive / positive feedback in the group setting
- Send feedback / comments about anything that you might not like through direct messages to the group admins.
- Sorry to say this but if you violate the guideline more than twice, you will be removed from the group.
- The group admins will provide you a warning via direct message.

I am sure each of you knows the power of social media. As a Non-Profit, we do not want to spend donations made by our supporters on ‘Paid Marketing’. Also we do not believe that ‘Paid Marketing’ should be used to raise awareness about good work that is being done by unpaid volunteers.
Each of you might not be an active volunteer but you can definitely be our ambassadors. All you need to do is spare 5 minutes each week to share some of our post in your network and encourage them to share the information with their friends and groups.
As a founder member, I can confidently tell you that Sneha Karma Foundation has been able to make a difference in the lives of the under-privileged girls and woman only because of supporters like you. We believe in the power of kind-hearted people coming together to make a difference.
