There are many ways to give your time and energy to Sneha Karma Foundation — volunteer your skills, join our ambassador program, or raise funds among your friends and community. Every role, requirement and time commitment is listed below.
Virtual Volunteering
We believe every Human has a wish to give back to the community. We just get too busy with ‘Life’, that we are not able to make time for this wish. We, at Sneha Karma Foundation understand the challenges that we all go through – Focusing on Job, our careers, our loved ones, taking care of kids / elders, having quality time with family, etc, etc. We have hence made it really easy for anyone to volunteer with us.
As you might already know, Sneha Karma Foundation takes pride in being 100% volunteer lead non-profit organization. At any given time, we have 25+ active virtual volunteers on the team and 20+ who are in reserve (we call on them if we are in urgent need).
Our Goal is to form a team of 100 active virtual volunteers by the end of 2018 with 10 core team volunteers (who will be given leadership role over a period of time based on their commitment, skills and other attributes)
At any given time, we manage 5 to 6 concurrent projects. The primary objective of most of our projects is capacity building (in addition to running day-to-day operations). As evident from our Vision, we have a very ambitious goal and we can use all the help that we can get from people like you :-).
We understand that all of us want to give something back to the community but we are all worried about making commitments that we cannot keep. Please do not worry, we are all in the same boat, there are weeks and months when life takes over but when we do have sometime to give back, we want to. So, no harm in signing up and being on our list of volunteers. Yes, It is time to make that wish come true !!!

If there are no roles that match you interest, we recommend you still contact us and discuss your interest. You never know, we might just have that need but not got around to taking it up as a project as yet. A lot of our priorities and timelines are driven based on volunteers availability 🙂
As part of the first contact, you will be able to communicate your availability, your constraints (if any) and most importantly your interest. The assignment will be carved out based on your interest, availability and ability to commit. You will be free to work on the days / hours and location convenient to you but yes, we do take your commitment seriously. If you are unable to commit to the minimum hours required for each of the job below, we recommend that you choose an assignment that does not have strict time commitments. The commitments ensure that we can depend on you to deliver on your assignment so that we can, as a Team continue to make progress towards our goal ?

Onsite Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in joining our team. We are always looking for passionate and talented volunteers to join our team of ever growing community of volunteers. Since we work directly with the under-privileged girls, we are able to offer volunteers with opportunities to visit our program sites and make their contributions on the ground.
Depending on the interest, skills and time availability of the volunteer, we will customize the assignment. Once you apply, you will be working closely with our ‘Program Site’ coordinator to create your custom assignment and plan our your trip.
As a volunteer, you will be required to pay for your travel to the program site. In some cases, you might be required to pay for your accommodation too. On request, we can help make the accommodation arrangement.
Your onsite volunteering assignment can include the following for the girls in our ‘Support-A-Girl’ Program.

Teach ‘English’ and other subjects / topics (for a minimum of one week)

Provide Career Coaching and Mentoring to girls who are 14+ yrs old.

Host Medical and Dental Health clinics.
Onsite volunteering assignment require meticulous planning, online research, co-ordination to be done prior to the visit, so plan for atleast 40 hours for this work, starting atleast 3 months prior to your actual onsite visit.
If your employer supports such volunteering activities as part of their ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ program, you might be eligible to get re-imbursed for the time and money that you spend on such assignments. We can provide you the required documentation you need to support your claim.

Be Our Ambassador
Individuals, just like you have often reached out to us, expressing a desire to contribute in some way and support Sneha Karma Foundation. These individuals are unable to commit more than 8-10 hours per year to support us, due to other priorities in Life.We at Sneha Karma Foundation believe that every individual, who wishes to give back to the community in some way should be given a platform to do so. We have designed our ‘Ambassador’ program keeping such individuals in mind.
Our Ambassador program is a group of social, professional, and philanthropic minded individuals who have a shared commitment to support Sneha Karma Foundation’s vision to build an ecosystem that will enable underprivileged girls to get equal opportunity to pursue their dreams. These individuals are committed to supporting the girls and our programs by becoming ‘SKF Ambassadors’ and leveraging their networks to further our mission to provide academic education, skills training, and professional development until the girls become independent and self-empowered.
As a Sneha Karma Foundation Ambassador, you will be responsible for :
- Spread awareness of Sneha Karma Foundation and its mission.
- Post in companies ‘social media channels’ and personal social media platforms about Sneha Karma Foundation once each Quarter
- The post should be created based on content provided thru the ‘ambassador network’ newsletter
- Post in companies ‘social media channels’ and personal social media platforms about Sneha Karma Foundation once each Quarter

- Help raise funds for the various programs
- Set a Give/Get Goal of a $500 with the aspiration to reach $1,000 or more per year.
- Help recruit Volunteers and Ambassadors
- Create (at minimum, one event) to support SKF and invite people from your network to the event
Time Commitment:
- Serve a term of 1 year (except Chairs which is a two-year commitment)
- 8 – 10 hour time commitment annually
