About Sneha Karma Foundation
Sneha Karma Foundation is a USA registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in California, USA. We are also registered in India as a Charitable Trust. It was founded by a person just like you who wanted to give back to the community but always disappointed to find out that more often than not, very little of the donation amount reached the actual needy person. Most of the non-profits that are out there have a very high operating cost. We currently operate at less than 10% operating cost and even that is funded by the founder member directly — so 100% of your donation amount goes to help and support the needy.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give every underprivileged girl and woman in India the same opportunity as anyone else — to change how society sees her, to give her the opportunity to learn, to earn a livelihood, and to feel empowered to do anything she wishes to do, regardless of the poverty or the gender bias she was born into.

Frequently Asked Questions
Anyone with skills and a few hours to spare — students, working professionals and retirees. You can volunteer remotely (virtual) or at our programme sites in India (onsite). There is no fee to volunteer, and we match you to a role based on your skills and availability.
Virtual roles are flexible — most volunteers give a few hours a week. Onsite roles require a minimum of one week at a programme site. We agree the schedule with you before you start so it fits around your life.
Not always. Many roles (social media, newsletter, fundraising) need enthusiasm more than experience; others (legal, accounting, medical, teaching) require relevant qualifications, which we verify. We provide a short brief and support for every role.
Both. Virtual volunteering can be done from anywhere in the world. Onsite volunteering takes place at our programme sites in India (for example, the Garbhanga forest villages of Assam).
Use the “Get Involved” form on this page or email [email protected]. We review your application, have a short conversation to align on a role, and then onboard you — usually within a week or two.
