When A Vision comes to Life ( May 2019)

Our First Social Enterprise Project came to Life in March 2019. The ‘Garbhanga Handloom and Handicraft Centre’ will provide direct employment to approx 25 under-privileged un-educated woman and provide a platform to undergo skill training for another 25 teenage girls each year. These are girls who missed out on an the opportunity to get academic education due to poverty. Read all about this project on our ‘Garbhanga Handloom Centre‘ web page.

…No, It is not just another E-Commerce Website.  It is our vision that ‘Sneha Karma Collections’ will eventually grow to not only enable the under-privileged artisans to earn their livelihood but also to enable ‘Sneha Karma Foundation’ to some of our programs through the profits made by selling products on ‘Sneha Karma Collections’. When A Vision comes to Life ( May 2019)

…Not all our volunteers can commit to 4-5 hours of their valuable time each week on a ongoing basis but their heart desires to give back and be part of the good work that Sneha Karma Foundation is doing. We heard you!

We launched the ‘SKF Ambassador’ program where-in a volunteer can contribute 8-10 hours per year and continue to be involved with Sneha Karma Foundation by spreading the word and helping us recruit volunteers and raise funds to roll-out our programs at new program locations. From an idea to a school of girls

Every organisation begins as a conviction. Ours was simple: that a girl in a remote village deserves the same chance as anyone else. Turning that conviction into reality took years of patient work — and it started with a single promise to keep a girl in school.

What it took

  • Earning the trust of families who had never sent a daughter to school.
  • Removing practical barriers — fees, distance, safety and healthcare.
  • Staying with each girl year after year, not just for a season.

What the vision became

What began as one girl became a cohort, and then a program. The first girls we supported have now reached college — the equivalent of fifteen years of education — which is the clearest proof that the vision was real.

What comes next

A vision is not finished; it scales. The same model now carries girls into higher education, careers and livelihoods — and every new supporter helps it reach one more girl. Join us.

Why this story matters

  • A vision begins as a conviction.
  • It grew from one girl to a program.
  • It scales as support grows.

Small, consistent support is what makes lasting change possible. Whether it is a monthly gift, an hour of your skills, or a fundraiser shared with friends, every contribution extends our reach to one more girl. Because we are volunteer-led and keep overhead under 10%, your involvement goes further than you might expect — and its effect shows in a real life, not a line item.
